1.   Title

This Order may be cited as the Provinces and Districts Boundaries (Division) Order.

2.   Provinces

The Republic of Zambia shall be divided into the Provinces mentioned in the first column of the First Schedule and such Provinces shall be known by the names therein assigned to them.

3.   Districts

Each Province of the Republic of Zambia shall include and consist of the Districts listed in the second column of the First Schedule and specified opposite each Province and such Districts shall be known by the names therein assigned to them.

4.   Boundaries of Districts

The boundaries of each District shall be as specified in the Second Schedule.

5.   Revocation of Statutory Instrument

The Provinces and Districts (Division) Order, 1977 (211 of 1977) is hereby revoked.

Starting at boundary beaconNo. XXVIII, of the Zambia-Democratic Republic ofCongo (DRC) International Boundary, the boundary follows the Luapula River upstream to its confluence with the Lulimala River; thence up the Lulimala River to its confluence with the Moboshi River; thence up the Moboshi River to its source; thence south-eastwards and southwards following the watershed between the Lulimala, Lukulu, Mupamadzi and Kapemba Rivers on the north and the Mulembo, Lusiwasi and Mutisanse Rivers on the south for approximately 197 kilometres to a point on the Luangwa River due south of that watershed; thence down the Luangwa River to its confluence with the Mpupushi stream; thence up the Mpupushi stream to its confluence with the Mfushi stream; thence up the Mfushi stream to its confluence with an unnamed stream; thence up this unnamed stream to its source on the Muchinga Escarpment; thence in a north-easterly, westerly, northerly , north-westerly and south-westerly direction along the boundary of the Chisomo Game Management Area No. 15 to the confluence of Lukusashi River and Mweneshi River; thence up Mweneshi River to its confluence with an unnamed stream; thence up the unnamed stream to its source; thence in a north westerly direction passing between beacon ZP118 and Mulombwi stream to the source of Mweneshi River proceeding to a point on the Bulelele stream; thence up the Bulelele stream to its source; thence in a west, north-west direction along the southern edge of the Tanzania-Zambia Railway Stripe Reserve; thence crossing over the Tanzania-Zambia Railway Strip Reserve and the Road (Great North Road) T2 in westerly direction to the source of the Lunsambwa stream; thence down the Lunsambwa stream to its confluence with the Kasanka River; thence down the Kansaka River to its confluence with the Mulambo River; thence down the Mulambo River to its confluence with the Luwombwe River; thence up the Luwombwe River to its confluence with the Musangashi River; thence up the Musangashi River to a point where the Zambia-Democratic Republic ofCongo (DRC) International Boundary crosses the Musangashi River; thence northwards along the Zambia-Democratic Republic ofCongo international boundary to boundary beaconNo. XXVIII, the point of starting.

MKUSHI DISTRICT

Starting at the boundary post No. 7 on the Zambia-DR Congo (DRC) International boundary, the boundary follows the international boundary beacon No. 1; thence on a bearing of 195 degrees for a distance approximately 8 kilometres to the source of the Mulembo River; thence down the Mulembo River to its confluence with Kamanga stream; thence up Kamanga stream for a distance approximately 9 kilometres to its confluence with an unnamed stream; thence up the unnamed stream to its source continuing westwards to the source of unnamed stream; thence down this unnamed stream to its confluence with Misaka stream; thence down Misaka stream to its confluence with Kampoko River; thence up the Kampoko River to its confluence with the Wele stream; thence up the Wele stream to its source proceeding south-westwards following the watershed of Tumbwe and Nkumashi Rivers to the source of Chipwa stream passing through the confluence of Nkumashi River and unnamed stream; thence in generally northwest and westward direction for distance approximately 5 kilometres to the boundary of Trust Land No. XX; thence southwards along the boundary of Trust Land No. XX for a distance approximately 4 kilometres; thence westwards for a distance approximately 23 kilometres to the source of unnamed stream; thence down the unnamed stream to its confluence with Mkushi River; thence north-westwards along unnamed stream to the road junction of Road D207 and ungazetted road; thence northwards following the watershed of Lunsemfwa River and Mkushi River for a distance approximately 30 kilometres to the road junction of Road D207 and ungazetted road; thence in the same direction for a distance approximately 12 kilometres to a point on the Road D208; thence westwards along the Road D208 to a point where the Road D208 crosses Munshiwemba stream; thence down Munshiwemba stream to its confluence with the Lunsemfwa River; thence up the Lunsenfwa River to its confluence with the Mubalashi River; thence up the Mubalashi River to its source; thence on a bearing of269 degrees for a distance of 4 kilometres to the boundary beacon Post No. 7, the point of starting.

ITEZHI-TEZHI DISTRICT

Starting at Beacon KNPW 32 on the watershed between Zambezi and Kafue Basins and approximately 70 kilometres due west of the confluence; thence continuing eastwards for approximately 40 kilometres to Chinenga Old Boma; thence eastwards for approximately 43 kilometres to Cholobeti Hills; thence southeast wards through a point on the Chibila River 1.5 kilometres south of the crossing of the Old Mumbwa-Namwala main path for a distance of approximately 7 kilometres to a point east of Chibila River; thence south westwards for approximnately 12 kilometres to Shimalula Pool; thence due east for approximately 24 kilometres; thence southeast wards for 28 kilometres to a point about 9.5 kilometres south west of Beacon E65A of Farm No. 313 “Blue Lagoon”; thence southwards to a point on the Kafue River 6.5 kilometres from the north western Beacon V of Farm No. 55a “Lochinvar”; thence up the Kafue River to a point approximnately 3 kilometres downstream of the confluence of the Kafue River and Baunza Stream; thence through the centre line of Mulela Plain leaving the Kashishi Stream to the east and through the Ilumba Plain for a distance of approximately 32 kilometres to the source of the Nombanga Stream; thence in a straight line to the confluence of the Sikalete Stream with an unnamed tributary and continuing in the same direction for a distance of approximately 5 kilometres; thence in the south-eastern direction passing through the Shapuya Hills for a distance of approximately 28 kilometres to Beacon G on the Shapuwa Stream approximately 1.5 kilometres east of the point where the path from Kalomo to Luchena crosses the Shapuya Stream; thence southwest-wards for a distance of approximately 27 kilometres to the southern edge of the Idiamaala Pool; thence southwestwards for a distance of approximately 55 kilometres to the source of the Siazingu River on the watershed between Nanzhila, Choma, Kafwifwi, Nkaka and Musa Rivers on the north and the Ngwezi, Mulobezi and Kalobe Rivers on the south; thence generally northwards along this watershed passing through Beacon KNPW 1 to KNPW 31, inclusive for a distance of approximately 205 kilometres to Beacon KNPW 32, the point of starting.

KAPIRI MPOSHI DISTRICT

Starting at the confluence of Mushipashi River and Lukanga River the boundary follows the Lukanga River upstream to a point at grid reference PQ680676; thence on a bearing of 85 degrees for a distance of 12 kilometres to Railway Mile Peg 1373 on the eastern boundary of Zambia Railways Strip Reserve; thence in a northerly direction along the eastern boundary of the Zambia Railways Strip Reserve, skirting the eastern boundaries of the Fubera Siding Reserve Right, the former eastern portion of Kashitu Township Reserve, and the Lubwe crossing loop, to the point where this boundary is intersected by the south-eastern boundary o f Katanino Forest Reserve No 34 at grid reference PQ 840925; thence following the southern boundary of Katanino Forest Reserve, in an easterly direction, passing through trig point 61/ZP, to the south-eastern comer of the said forest reserve, at grid reference PQ891945; thence on a bearing of 80 degrees for a distance of 8.5 kilometres to the confluence of the Mobi and Mubalashi Rivers; thence down the Mubalashi River to its confluence with the Lunsemfwa River; thence down the Lunsemfwa river to the face of the Muchinga Escarpment, at Grid Reference QP274759; thence in a westerly direction, following the northern boundary of the Luano Game Management Area No. 15 along the upper edge of the Muchinga Escarpment, to the confluence of the Lilunga and Mulungushi Rivers, at grid reference QP033636; thence up the Mulungushi River to its confluence with the Chitakata River; thence up the Chitakata River to its confluence with the Lukali River; thence up the Lukali River to a point opposite beacon SE180, the southern Beacon of Farm 2767; thence north-eastwards, north-westwards and south-westwards through Beacons SE 179, SE 178 and SE 177 to the Lukali River; thence up the Lukali River to beacon L6 of Farm No. 384a; thence following the north-eastern boundary of Farm No. 3 84a through Beacon L5 to Beacon L4, the most northerly Beacon of Farm No. 384a on the eastern boundary Lenje Reserve No. XV; thence in a south-westerly direction following the boundaries of Farm No. 384a, Farm No. 1531 and Farm No. 1530, though Beacons L3, J465 and J464 to Beacon J480, the western Beacon of Farm No. 1530; thence following the watershed between the Lukanga Swamp and Mulungushi River in a generally southerly direction through Beacons SE 54, SE 55, SE 56, SE 57, SE 58, SE 59, SE 60, SE 61, BH 57, BH 58 and BH 59 to Beacon J497, the most northerly Beacon of 1541 thence south-westwards along the north-western boundary of Farm 1541 to beacon V396, the north-western corner of Farm No. 838; thence southwards along the western boundary of Farm No. 838, through Beacon V397, to the point where the said boundary intersects the Munga River; thence up the Munga River to the point where it intersects the western boundary of farm 135a; thence south-eastwards along the western boundary of Farm No. 135a to beacon C890, southern Beacon of the said farm; thence in a south westerly direction, following the north-westerly boundaries of Farms No. 2116 and No. 2114, to the point of intersection with the Lyansa River at Grid Reference PP 306867, thence down Lyansa Stream to its point of entry into Lukanga Swamp, at Grid reference PP020924; thence northwards crossing over the road D774 continuing along the eastern side of the Lukanga Swamp shore line to Mwatishi and_ Mufukushi Streams; thence to a point where the Lukanga River enters Lukanga Swamp; thence northwards up the Lukanga River to its confluence with the Mushipashi River, the point of starting.

Starting at the confluence of the Lukanga River and the Kafue River, the boundary follows the Kafue River to its confluence with Kasanga River; thence up the Kasanga River to its source; thence on a bearing of 236 degrees for a distance of 17 kilometres to the southern end o f Kayamba Hills; thence northwards along the Kayamba hills and along the watershed between Lunga and Luswishi Rivers for a distance approximately 70 kilometres to a point 54 kilometres due west of the confluence of Mininga and Luswishi Rivers; thence eastwards to the confluence of Maninga and Luswishi Rivers; thence down the Luswishi River to its confluence with the Kafue River; thence up the Kafue River to its confluence with the Ipumbu River; thence up the Ipumbu River to its source; thence on a bearing of 142 degrees for a distance of 18.5 kilometres to the source of Mushipashi River; thence down the Mushipashi River to its confluence with the Lukanga River; thence down the Lukanga River to the shore line of Lukanga Swamp; thence along the eastern side of the Lukanga shore line to Mufukushi Stream and Mwatishi Stream; thence southward crossing the Road D774, proceeding to the confluence o f Lyansa and Kamutundwa Streams, the point of entry of Lyansa Stream into Lukanga Swamp; thence down the Lyansa River for a distance approximately 32 kilometres; thence on a bearing of 315 degrees for a distance of 22 kilometres; thence due west in a straight line for a distance of 50 kilometres to the point where the Lukanga River leaves the Swamp; thence down Lukanga River to its confluence with the Kafue River, the point of starting

Starting at a point on the Mushingashi River where the Zambia Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) international boundary crosses the Mushingashi River, the boundary follows the Mushingashi River down to its confluence with the Luwombwa River; thence down the Luwombwa River to its confluence with the Mulambo River; thence up the Mulambo River to its confluence with the Kasanka River; thence up the Kasanka River to its confluence with the Lunsambwa stream; thence up the Lunsambwa stream to its source; thence in an easterly direction crossing over the Tanzania-Zambia Railway Strip Reserve and the road (Great North Road) T2 to the southern edge of the Tanzania-Zambia Railway Stripe Reserve; thence southeast direction to the source of Bulelele stream; thence down the Bulelele stream for a distance approximately 11.7 kilometres; thence eastwards to the source of Mweneshi River proceeding between beacon ZP118 and Mulombwi stream to the source of the unnamed stream; thence down this unnamed stream to its confluence with the Mweneshi River; thence down the Mweneshi River to its confluence with the Lukusashi River; thence in a north-easterly, south-easterly, southerly, easterly and south-westerly direction along the boundary of the Chisomo Game Management Area No. 15 to the source of an unnamed stream on the Muchinga Escarpment; thence down this an unnamed stream to its confluence with the Mfushi stream; thence down the Mfushi stream to its confluence with the Mpupushi River; thence down the Mpupushi River to its confluence with the Luangwa River; thence down the Luangwa River to latitude 13 degrees 56 minutes; thence due west along this latitude for approximately 85 kilometres to its intersection with the Mulembo River; thence up the Mulembo River to its source; thence in a north-westerly direction for approximately 8 kilometres to boundary beacon No. 1 of the Zambia - Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) international boundary (watershed section); thence due north to a point where the Zambia Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) international boundary crosses the Musangashi River, the point of starting.
