AN ACT

to remove doubt as to the validity of, and to declare valid, certificates heretofore issued for the purposes of the Companies Act under the hands of public officers other than the Registrar of Companies.

1. Short title

This Act may be cited as the Companies (Certificates Validation) Act.

2. Interpretation

In this Act, unless the context otherwise requires—

“Act” means the Companies Act;

“officer” means any public officer heretofore designated as Assistant Registrar of Companies, or any other public officer who heretofore for the time being exercised the function of issuing statutory certificates under the Act;

“Registrar” means the person appointed as Registrar under section 14 of the Patents and Companies Registration Agency Act, 2010.
