AN ACT

to provide for the establishment of the Zambia Institute of Diplomacy and International Studies; to provide for the Board of Governors of the Institute; and to provide for matters connected with or incidental to the foregoing.

PART I
PRELIMINARY

1.   Short title

This Act may be cited as the Zambia Institute of Diplomacy and International Studies Act.

2.   Interpretation

In this Act, unless the context otherwise requires

"auditor" means the auditor appointed under section 19;

"Board" means the Board of Governors established under section 5;

"Chairman" means the Chairman appointed under section 7;

"committee" means a committee established under section 11;

"Director" means the Director appointed under section 14;

"Institute" means the Zambia Institute of Diplomacy and International Studies established by section 3;

"member" means a member of the Board or a committee;

"Registrar" means the Registrar appointed under section 15;

"Vice-Chairman" means the person elected as Vice-Chairman under section 7;

3.   Establishment of Institute

There is hereby established the Zambia Institute of Diplomacy and International Studies for the purpose of conducting training in diplomacy and international relations.

PART III
THE BOARD OF GOVERNORS

4.   Establishment of Board

There shall be a Board of Governors of the Institute which shall be a body corporate with perpetual succession and a common seal, capable of suing and of being sued in its corporate name and with power, subject to the other provisions of this Act, to do all such acts and things as a body corporate may by law do or perform.
