These Regulations may be cited as the Trades Licensing (Fees) Regulations, 2008.
In these Regulations, unless the context otherwise requires–
"Act" means the Trades Licensing Act;
"agent" means a person or company that officially represents other persons or companies in business;
"area" means any area under the jurisdiction of a Council;
"business area settlement" means a commercial area located in a settlement area or township and comprises of shopping, trading, banking, hotel, restaurant and other commercial activities;
"Central business district" means the area of the city or town which is the centre of business activities with the highest concentration of shopping, banking, hotel, restaurant and other commercial activities;
"collector" means an officer or employee of a Council authorised to collect revenue for the Council and any other person authorised by the Council to collect revenue on behalf of the Council;
"consumables" are goods that are intended to be used and then replaced and such goods include but are not limited to parts, spares and lubricants;
"council" means a council established under section 3 of the Local Government Act;
"medium second class" means an area of the city or town which has the second highest concentration of shopping, banking, hotel restaurant and other commercial activities;
"non-consumables" are goods that are meant to be used for a long period of time before replacement and such goods include but are not limited to plant equipment and machinery, motor vehicles, ships and aircrafts.
These Regulations apply to the area of every Council.
If any inconsistency arises between the provisions of the regulations of and those of any other by-laws made by a Council, the provisions these Regulations shall prevail to the extent of the inconsistency.
A person who operates a business in the area within the jurisdiction of a Council shall pay to the collector, a levy set out in the Schedule to these Regulations.
Any person who contravenes any provisions of these Regulations commits an offence.

TRADES LICENSING (FEES) REGULATIONS, 2008 [Sections 6 and 28] Arrangement of Regulations Regulation 1. Title 2. Prescribed fees SI 125 of 2008. These Regulations may be cited as the Trade Licensing (Fees) Regulations, 2008. The fees set out in the schedule shall be the fees payable in respect of the licences specified therein.
